About
Vicki A. Tesoro is the First Selectman of Trumbull, Connecticut, a position she has held since first being elected in 2017. A Democrat, she has been reelected multiple times, securing her fifth two-year term in November 2025. Tesoro has lived in Trumbull for over 30 years with her husband Tom and their two daughters, and has been an active community member throughout that time.
Before and during her tenure as First Selectman, Tesoro has been involved in public service and volunteerism at the local level. She served on the PTSA for many years and is a founding member of TPAUD, Trumbull's Prevention organization. As First Selectman, her stated priorities have included strengthening town finances, investing in public education and public safety, expanding recreation opportunities, and advocating for increased state education funding for the town.
Tesoro has been a consistent advocate for Education Cost Sharing (ECS) funding from the State of Connecticut, testifying before the Connecticut General Assembly's Education Committee on multiple occasions. In 2019, she worked to address a potential significant reduction in ECS funding for Trumbull, and has continued to push for updates to the state's education aid formula to better reflect current per-pupil costs. Under her leadership, Trumbull has been ranked 11th among all Connecticut municipalities in educational quality.
