Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

When you create an account or use ct.one, we may collect the following information:

  • Account information: Email address, display name, and optional profile details such as phone number, background, and interests.
  • Event activity: Events you RSVP to (going or interested), comments you post, and events you submit.
  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used, browser type, and device information collected automatically through standard web technologies.
  • Communication preferences: Your notification settings including email, SMS, Telegram, and WhatsApp preferences.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the ct.one events calendar service.
  • To send you event notifications and personalized event recommendations based on your interests and preferences.
  • To display your public profile information (display name) on RSVPs and comments you choose to make public.
  • To enable community features such as event comments and discussions.
  • To communicate with you about your account, service updates, and respond to your inquiries.

3. RSVP Privacy

When you RSVP to an event, you can choose whether your attendance is public or private. Public RSVPs display your display name on the event page. Private RSVPs are only visible to you — your name will not appear on the attendee list. Aggregate RSVP counts (e.g., "12 going") include both public and private RSVPs and do not reveal individual identities.

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:

  • Public content: Comments you post and RSVPs you mark as public are visible to other users.
  • Service providers: We use third-party services to operate ct.one, including Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), and Resend (email delivery). These providers process data on our behalf under their respective privacy policies.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or governmental request.

5. Cookies & Local Storage

ct.one uses cookies and browser local storage to maintain your authentication session and store your preferences. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising networks.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication through Supabase Auth, and row-level security policies on our database. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access and update your personal information through your profile settings.
  • Delete your account and associated data by contacting us.
  • Change your RSVP visibility settings at any time.
  • Opt out of email notifications through your profile preferences.
  • Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

Connecticut residents may have additional rights under applicable state privacy laws. California residents may have rights under the CCPA. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@ct.one.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Event-related data (RSVPs, comments) is retained as long as the associated event exists. You may delete your comments at any time. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

9. Children's Privacy

ct.one is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at info@ct.one.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email. Your continued use of ct.one after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
