Kathleen Smith

Kathleen Smith is the First Selectman of Lebanon, Connecticut, having won the seat with 1,470 votes in a municipal election that saw a voter turnout of 36.33 percent, according to the Connecticut Secretary of State's unofficial results. Prior to becoming First Selectman, Smith served on the Lebanon Board of Selectmen, giving her prior experience in town government before assuming the top leadership role. She was interviewed in her capacity as First Selectman as recently as January 22, 2026.

Smith has lived in Lebanon for over 37 years and raised her three sons, Beriah, Brandon, and Blake, in the town, where they attended Lebanon Public Schools. She and her husband, Jim, have been longstanding members of the community. Smith is affiliated with the Lebanon Democratic Town Committee.
