First Selectman

Cornwall, Connecticut

About

Gordon M. Ridgway is the First Selectman of Cornwall, Connecticut, a position he has held since first being elected in 1991. As First Selectman, he leads the day-to-day administration of Cornwall's town government and serves alongside Selectmen Rocco Botto and John Brown on the three-member Board of Selectmen, which functions as the executive arm of the town. He runs as a Democrat and most recently won re-election in November 2025 with 402 votes, with his current term running through 2027.

Beyond his role in town government, Ridgway is the founder of Ridgway Farm in Cornwall, which he established in 1980 with the help of his late father Bruce and his mother Kitty. The farm was undeveloped land at the time of purchase, and over the following decades Ridgway oversaw its growth, personally constructing many of the buildings on the property. He is also an active member of the Cornwall Volunteer Fire Department and is recognized as a longstanding participant in the local community.
