Brian F.X. Connolly is the Chair of the Farmington, Connecticut Town Council, serving as a Democrat representing the town. He was elected to the position in November 2025, defeating Republican candidate Joe Capodiferro by a vote of 4,244 to 3,649 in unofficial totals, making him the first Democratic Town Council Chair in Farmington in approximately 70 years — the first since the 1950s. The Farmington Democratic Party unanimously nominated him to lead their 2025 slate.

Connolly and his wife Denise have resided in Farmington since 1997, where they raised their two daughters, Caitlin and Shannon, both graduates of Farmington public schools. He has been an active civic volunteer in the town for many years, serving on the Farmington Town Council since 2019 and previously on the Economic Development Commission beginning in 2008. Prior to his election as Chair, he was a sitting Town Council member who sought the top office in the November 2025 municipal election.
