Wendy Mackstutis

Wendy Mackstutis is the First Selectman of Simsbury, Connecticut, a position she has held since 2021. She serves as a member of the Democratic Party and is affiliated with the Simsbury Democratic Town Committee. Prior to becoming First Selectman, Mackstutis had no prior political experience before entering public office. In 2019, she ran for a seat on the Simsbury Board of Selectmen and was elected, marking her entry into local government. She subsequently became First Selectman in 2021.

Mackstutis has described maintaining an open-door policy for residents who wish to stay informed about town affairs. She has been recognized for her work in municipal government and is associated with the University of Connecticut's School of Public Policy. In the 2023 local elections, she was re-elected as First Selectman, with the CT Insider reporting her victory over her opponent for an additional two-year term.
