Singh Swarnjit

Swarnjit Singh is the Mayor of Norwich, Connecticut, serving as a Democrat elected at large to a four-year term. He was sworn into office on December 2, 2025, making history as the first Sikh mayor in Connecticut's history. Originally from Punjab, India, Singh is a businessman and community leader who has resided in Norwich, where he describes the city as having embraced his family.

As mayor, Singh is a voting member of the Norwich City Council and holds responsibility for coordinating economic development in the city. Following his swearing-in, he identified housing and economic development as his primary priorities. His inauguration ceremony also saw the swearing-in of the Norwich City Council, Board of Education, and City Treasurer. In connection with the inauguration, the local Sikh community donated $11,000 to St. Vincent de Paul Place. Singh maintains regular communication with Norwich residents through a monthly Mayor's Newsletter, which provides updates on projects from the Mayor's Office and upcoming community events.
