Sean Donlan is the First Selectman of Haddam, Connecticut, having been elected to the position in November 2025. He defeated his Republican opponent, receiving 1,425 votes (54.93%) compared to 1,169 votes (45.07%). Donlan is a local attorney who moved to Haddam in 2001 and has since been active in town government and community affairs.
Over the course of more than two decades, Donlan has held numerous elected and appointed positions in Haddam. He served on the Haddam Board of Finance from 2005 to 2007 and on the Haddam Economic Development Commission from 2002 to 2005. He served four terms on the Haddam Board of Selectmen, covering the periods 2007–2009, 2011–2013, 2013–2015, and 2015–2017. He also served as Chairman of the Haddam Commission on Wages and Salaries of Elected Officials in 2006 and was a member of the Haddam Charter Revision Commission in 2004.
Beyond his government service, Donlan has been involved with local community organizations including Haddam Little League and the Knights of Columbus. He began serving as First Selectman following the November 4, 2025 election, and has provided regular monthly updates to residents since taking office.
