About
Richard "Rich" Sileo is the First Selectman of Thomaston, Connecticut, serving as the town's chief elected municipal official. A Republican, Sileo and his wife have been residents of Thomaston since 1992, having chosen the town shortly after their marriage for its affordability, proximity to work, good schools, and small-town charm. He has spent over two decades in senior leadership roles at global companies, where he managed multimillion-dollar budgets, led diverse teams, and developed data-driven strategies.
Sileo became involved in local government through volunteer service, joining the town's Economic Development Committee (EDC) to contribute his professional skills to the community. He later served as chairman of the Board of Finance before seeking the town's top elected position. In the 2025 municipal election, Sileo ran as the Republican candidate for First Selectman, facing Democrat Jeffrey P. Dunn in a race to succeed the outgoing First Selectman Mone. The First Selectman position in Thomaston carries a two-year term and is subject to re-election per Connecticut state statutes.
