About
Mica Cardozo is the First Selectman of Woodbridge, Connecticut, serving as the town's Chief Administrative and Executive Officer. He was elected in November 2023 as the Democratic candidate, winning in a clean sweep alongside other Democrats, and began his two-year term on January 1, 2024. His key responsibilities include reviewing the town's financial needs and budget requirements, evaluating current and future municipal needs, carrying out town ordinances and policies, and guiding the Board of Selectmen in the discharge of its duties.
Prior to becoming First Selectman, Cardozo was active in Woodbridge town government for over 15 years. He served two terms as Deputy Selectman under First Selectman Beth Heller and was appointed as Ordinance Chairman. He also served on a range of municipal commissions, including the Woodbridge Police, Fire, Economic Development, Recreation, and Agriculture Commissions. In addition to his government service, Cardozo is a member of the Woodbridge Rotary and serves as a Griffin Hospital Corporator.
Before entering public office, Cardozo built a career as a business development and sales executive with AT&T. He and his wife, Pat Cardozo — a realtor and 12-year elected member of the Amity Board of Education who served as its Vice-Chair — raised their two daughters, Rachel and Micaela, in Woodbridge, where both attended Beecher Road School, Amity Middle School, and graduated from Amity Regional High School.
