Meaghan M H Cook

Meaghan M. H. Cook (born approximately 1962) is an American local government official serving as First Selectman of Barkhamsted, Connecticut. She is a registered Democrat and a resident of Barkhamsted. Cook was elected to the position of First Selectman and, upon taking office, became the town's Chief Elected Official. Her current term runs from January 1, 2026, through December 31, 2027. She can be reached directly at Town Hall at 67 Ripley Hill Road and maintains a publicly listed cell phone number for constituent contact.

As First Selectman, Cook is responsible for the overall management of the town's day-to-day activities, overseeing departments including Finance, the Building Department, the Highway Department, and the Assessor's Office. Her office also coordinates with other elected town officials, including the Town Clerk, Tax Collector, Registrar of Voters, and Town Treasurer. In March 2026, Cook co-signed a notice for a Special Town Meeting concerning a transfer from the Undesignated Fund to the General Government Fund for Fiscal Year 2025–2026.

Following her election, Cook stated that her priorities include protecting Barkhamsted's heritage of conservation, encouraging thoughtful growth, and ensuring a strong education for the town's children. She has expressed a commitment to honoring the town's past while working toward its future.
