About
Mark H. Fiorentino is the First Selectman and Chairman of the Board of Selectmen of Granby, Connecticut, serving as the town's chief elected official. A Republican, Fiorentino holds a term set to expire on November 15, 2027. He and his family relocated to Granby in 2009. His wife, Kristal, is a small business owner, and the couple has two children, Gage and Ellie, both graduates of Granby Memorial High School.
As First Selectman, Fiorentino has been active on matters of local governance and public safety. Among his notable policy positions, he submitted testimony to the Connecticut General Assembly in 2025 urging an amendment to SB 1352 that would establish a moratorium on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) facilities until the state develops minimum safety and environmental standards. This advocacy followed the Connecticut Siting Council's January 2025 approval of a 4.99-megawatt BESS facility at 100 Salmon Brook Street in Granby. Fiorentino has also carried out standard executive duties, including swearing in new appointees to town boards and commissions.
