Kevin M. Scarpati

Mayor

Meriden, Connecticut

About

Kevin M. Scarpati is the Mayor of Meriden, Connecticut, and a lifelong resident of the city. A product of the Meriden Public School system, he began his civic involvement at the age of 20, making him the youngest mayor in Meriden's history at the time of his first election. In his professional life, Scarpati serves as the Sales and Marketing Manager for Thompson Chocolate, a chocolate manufacturing company that was founded in Meriden in 1879.

Scarpati has been deeply involved in community organizations throughout his tenure, including serving as Co-Chair of the Meriden School Readiness Council, though he later resigned from that role amid a shift in preschool program control to the state under the Early Start CT initiative. He has maintained broad engagement with various local agencies across the city. In November 2025, Scarpati was elected to a sixth term as Mayor of Meriden, running unopposed in the municipal election.
