Julia Pemberton

Julia Pemberton is the First Selectwoman of Redding, Connecticut, a position she has held for six terms. A lifelong Democrat, she has lived in Redding since 1989 and serves as the municipality's chief executive officer. Prior to her current role, she accumulated over 25 years of experience in elected office, including service on the Region 9 Board of Education and the Redding Board of Selectmen.

Pemberton was most recently reelected in 2025, running unopposed during that election cycle, following a similarly uncontested victory in 2023 that secured her sixth term. In her role as First Selectwoman, she oversees the Board of Selectmen, which holds regular monthly meetings at Redding Town Hall and welcomes public participation. She is committed to accessible local government, maintaining open office hours and hosting a monthly Brown Bag lunch at Town Hall on the first Wednesday of each month to engage directly with residents.
