John L. Hall III is the First Selectman of Westbrook, Connecticut, a shoreline community often referred to as "the Jewel of the Shoreline." A lifelong resident of Westbrook, Hall comes from a family that has lived and worked in the town for multiple generations. He is married to Bonnie Hall and has one child, Leslie.
Hall has a long record of public service in Westbrook. He served on the Zoning Board of Appeals from 1983 to 2009, including time as its Chairman, before joining the Board of Selectmen in 2009, a position he has held continuously since then. He ran for Connecticut State Representative in the November 3, 2020 general election. In the November 7, 2023 general election, Hall ran unopposed for First Selectman, receiving 100% of the votes cast in that contest.
As First Selectman, Hall has identified several key priorities for the town, including rebuilding the local economy, protecting the environment, strengthening healthcare, supporting police and first responders, and preserving local control over education and zoning decisions.
