Joe Dimartino

Joseph L. DiMartino is the Mayor of Derby, Connecticut, serving at City Hall located at 1 Elizabeth Street. A Democrat, DiMartino was first elected mayor in November 2023, making him the first Democratic mayor of Derby since 2015. His 2023 victory came after a narrow loss in the 2021 mayoral race. In November 2025, DiMartino was elected to a second term, defeating his Republican challenger Scott Derby by a margin of 1,692 to 947 votes.

As mayor, DiMartino has focused on promoting Derby as a destination for residents, visitors, and businesses, emphasizing economic development and civic engagement. During his tenure, voters approved a $6.5 million capital needs referendum, funding new fire trucks and a new emergency radio system for first responders. His office maintains regular public hours and he has prioritized improving communication between local government and Derby's citizens, including through the city's municipal website.
