Jason E. Bowsza has served as First Selectman of East Windsor, Connecticut since November 2019. Before assuming the role of First Selectman, he served six years as a member of the East Windsor Board of Selectmen and six years on the East Windsor Board of Finance, giving him over a decade of experience in local municipal governance prior to his election as the town's chief executive.
Prior to his career in East Windsor municipal government, Bowsza served as Chief of Staff at the Connecticut Department of Agriculture and spent eight years on staff in the Connecticut state legislature. He holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree and is associated with CT State Asnuntuck, with educational ties to Westfield State University, and is based in the Broad Brook section of East Windsor.
During his tenure as First Selectman, Bowsza has engaged in issues of local concern including land use and energy development. Notably, he issued a statement opposing a proposed expansion of a solar farm in town, citing a community petition signed by more than 2,300 residents, and directed the Board of Selectmen to pursue a legal appeal of the Connecticut Siting Council's decision to approve the expansion. He ran for re-election as First Selectman in the 2023 municipal election cycle.
