Doug Thompson

Douglas K. Thompson serves as the First Selectman of Burlington, Connecticut, a position he holds as part of the town's elected Board of Selectmen. Burlington operates under a Town Meeting form of government, in which the First Selectman leads a five-member Board that includes four additional elected Selectmen. Thompson can be reached through the First Selectman's Office at Burlington Town Hall, located at 200 Spielman Highway.

Thompson has been a resident of Burlington for at least 13 years and has three children who attend the Region 10 School System. He has been an active member of the Burlington Republican Town Committee for more than a decade, having served in several roles including Treasurer, Bylaw Review Chairman, and Screening Committee Chairman, and as an Executive Committee Member. He has represented the Town of Burlington before the Connecticut General Assembly, including providing testimony on the state budget for the biennium ending June 30, 2027. Burlington holds local elections for the Board of Selectmen in odd-numbered years on the first Tuesday of November, with terms staggered every four years.
