Carl P. Fortuna, Jr. serves as the First Selectman of Old Saybrook, Connecticut, a position he holds as a Republican and in which he is currently in his seventh term. He was born in Middletown, Connecticut, and earned his undergraduate degree from Boston College in 1985, followed by a Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law in 1988. After graduating from law school, he worked in New York City for five years before relocating to Old Saybrook in 1994.
Following his move to Connecticut, Fortuna became a principal at a six-attorney law firm based in Middletown. He subsequently entered public service in Old Saybrook, eventually rising to the role of First Selectman, the chief elected executive position in the town's government. In that capacity, he can be reached through the Selectmen's Office at Town Hall, located at 302 Main Street, Old Saybrook, CT 06475. He is joined on the Board of Selectmen by Selectman Scott Giegerich and Selectman Jane Wisialowski.
