Bruce Walczak

Bruce Walczak is the First Selectman of Newtown, Connecticut, having been elected to the position on Election Day in November 2025 as a Democrat. His election was part of a broader Democratic sweep in Newtown's municipal races that day. Prior to entering elected office, Walczak launched and operated his own business after a career in management and operations.

Before his business venture, Walczak supervised teams of more than 250 employees, negotiated large contracts, and managed multimillion-dollar budgets across various professional roles. He has emphasized his background in fiscal management and operational efficiency as central to his approach to town government. Walczak has stated a priority of enhancing critical town services while managing the tax burden on Newtown residents.
